HELLO! I don't exactly see this as a really cliche shot. One of the things it has going for it is that it isn't something you see every day - which, IMO, keeps it from being an overdone photo subject. I like it tho. I like the colors mostly.
It would be better to move somehow so that there isn't that building behind the statue. Having a big dark area right next to the dark subject is distracting. You need to isolate the statue more. Maybe a close up of the head and arm or just a different angle. It also seems like tough lighting. You have those very white areas of sky, but the bottom of the shot looks underexposed. I think that I'd like to see it more as a true silhouette w/ no detail in the statue OR with more exposure so that the statue isn't as dark. There's also a little too much ice tho I'm not sure what other composition choices there were. Focus is hard to see, but looks good. Try catching this statue as a completely black silhouette against a nice colorful sky sometime. Good Luck! |

| This is a very cool picture. I like how the ice adds texture and a unique lighting to the photo. The figure infront of the ice sculpture also adds a nice image. Nice job. |

| Somehow this looks a little contrived to me. Strange that the ice is infront of the statue rather than all over it. OR is this a boy standing in front of a sheet of ice. Yes you got me with this one. And it has to be good to confuse me. Wish the building in the background on the right was not there. Would make it a lot better. Then the only dark thing would be the boy, or statue, which ever it is. Nice one. |
