 Some bird-shaped gourds I found at the farmer's market. Too cute not to adopt and bring home with me! I especially love the penguin which really and truly looks like a penguin from all sides -- so strange. The swan is a little more abstract, the wings aren't quite right and it's beakless, but I think it's obvious enough.

I think this makes a completely weird photograph, but I didn't know what else to do with these gourds as far as a set-up, so I'll just let them speak for their bird-like selves.

You did find some bizarre produce. I'm split on the shadows. In one hand they are a bit distracting, but when you look closer you can actually see the bird better in the shadow, especially on the "penguin". Love the colors. I think you should have used a higher aperture to make them a little more crisp. Other than that great find and pic.

Nice choice of subject. The shadows take away some appeal. Wonder how this would look in b&w?

Bleh. Those things certainly are bizarre, that's for sure. Not to sure about the background or lighting. A little centered?
