KITTY! Hope you keep this one locked up on Halloween.
I like the composition a lot. My first thought was that it needs some Rogaine. The hair is really thin above the eye and the harsh lighting w/ the b&w makes it really stand out. For that reason, I'd crop just above the eye probably (I also don't like seeing the beginning of the ear). I dunno if the light is just bright or if you have too much contrast, but it's on the verge of being sort of abstract.
Tough challenge for cat shots. I think the shot is good. Good focus for such a close-up especially, but it doesn't stand out from the other cat shots. Decent score. No major problems with the shot. Fits the challenge, but the competition was rough. |

One of my favorite lines (from a radio commercial!) would fit here too: "Remember, this is my house, you just live here." |

If this is your cat I hope you have good insurance. That's one scary lookin' feline!
You did a super job bringing that out, both in the way you cropped the image, your use of black and white and whatever you did in the "darkroom" to give the final image such a stark appearance.
Great job! |

So detailed, I can see the dander. Please brush this cat more often, it helps. I love beautiful black cats! Very nice capture. 9 Swash |

I'm not sure what animal this is but the half-covered eye makes it looks somewhat sinister. Very sharp image and I like the B/W effect. |

Composition: Spot on
Technical: Fantastic detail and contrast. Did you try a white inner border rather than grey?
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Great pic. Looks just like our cat too! 8 |

Personally do not like this shot at all. Took black and white, too close. Not appealling at all seeing the skin above the eye. Looks like it has been over sharpened to the extreme. |

I really liked this cat shot. It is one of my favorites in the challenge. I like the composition and the facial expression. You're choice of levels and contrast make it look like a pen and ink drawing. Very artistic. 8 |

Wow! I'm not going to get near this cat! Very lovely black and white photo. The eye grabs my attention and just keeps it. Very sharp focus and the composition is excellent and undistracting! Great lighting. (I'd like to know how you did it) The color texture is excellent even though i call it a b&w. |
