Offering sacrifices to ancestors is done by millions of Chinese on Chinese New Years Day. I tried to make it as realistic as possible. This is the real deal. The picture was taken in Longshan Temple in Taipei. More than 300.000 people come that day to the temple to do the traditional celebrations.

B/w is excellent.. as is the detail in the subject. I read different interpretations of Bai Bai but I'm assuming this is spiritual. Well done.

You have nailed the environmental part of the challenge. You can't but look at this and think about asian heritage and culture. It may be due to my own ignorance on the subject, but I don't see much in the image that is specific to the year of the monkey.
