I would have never guessed this to be yours! Somehow I never figured you for a kitten person -- what a pleasant surprise! |

This is a great shot. I love the focus, the detail in the extended claws is fantastic. I'm rating it slightly lower than I might otherwise as I don't see the connection to "bizarre" nature. Kittlens playing with string is fairly common, and the photo was taken indoors. I do like the shot very much. |

I'm not a cat enthousiast but your photo is lively and full of wonder. You don't get my weird votes but you do get all my wow votes. 10 thanks. ...and my favorite collection thanks you. |

What I like :
-Good capture
-the claws are nice
-I know how difficult it is to shoot an animal.
What I dislike:
-The leaf should go
-The details of the screw should go
- The string somehow destroys the composition. I see rather chaos ( but that might be your intention). It might be a good thing because you might see it as adding to the danger and fighting situation
- I am not sure about the DOF you used
-As I understand the claw was the subject, since the cat held his other leg so far in front the placing is ok, but if possible you could have moved it a bit to the right(the claw that is). A smaller DOF would have enhanced the claw. If selective saturatiob/desaturation was permitted, the claws them selves could be in colour but the rest in b&w.
-The colours seem to be so ...dead, and it somehow mismatches the spirit in these claws of the cat. B&w might repair this.
All in all I give you a 5 , but close to a 6. Why? Partaly I wrote, but also because the competition is better.
Good luck and go get them :) Think more of the part of the photos that could give a meaning to the photograph, think out of the box, Don't just limit your self to an interesting capture, even in an interesting capture thing's might add to the overall ouctome. Think of those 'things'

This is a great photo (and I love cats). The focus is clear, the composition is good, the colors are natural (and the whites aren't blown out). The only thing that would have made me vote it higher was if the solid black had been carried over on top of the board. I think that would have made such a beautiful contrast to the string and white on the cat. |
