Location: At a quarry near my home.

 This was an impromptu shoot in the middle of the day to try for the most contrast. The rock was quarried and in the process split open. It is now on display outside the quarry works where it was excavated.

Post-Editing: Curves, cropping and resizing and unsharpen mask.

Loved the photo but hated the title. Looks like a split sand dollar to me. Bright, in focus and interesting shadow contrasts. Framing my favorite part of photo. Thanks.

Great subject. May have been better shot in the late afternoon to give it more intrest with strange shadows..
