I wanted to come up with my own poem, but this kept singing in my head:

wherever you may be
I am the lord of the dance said he
and I'll lead you all
wherever you may be
and I'll lead you all in the dance, said he |

elemental happenings among local life
perplex us uninitiated observers of the strife
or have we happened upon some happy dance

A heron eats, a salmon dies, there is no conflict here.
A nation goes to war, its people puff with pride,
then try some rituals of grief, then tire of killing,
the same as the other side. No conflict, only truth,
only the violence of pianos being played, perfectly tuned. |
