My step-daughter Hilary is due pretty soon ... I had just a few minutes to stop by and snap a couple of shots late in the evening. Lousy indoor overhead lamp, braced the camera on an empty box on the floor to try and steady it a bit.

ISO 400 on my camera has bad noise anyway, so I converted to a duotone, adjusted tones using Curves, and added a mezzotint filter at 50% opacity.

I loved this. Perfect example of commitment, and I felt like with the interesting pp that this was some fancy art piece that could (should) be printed huge and hanging on a wall. Just gorgeous.
