Lighting seems a bit harsh (brights too bright, darks too dark) and the striped pattern matches the theme, but just doesn't sit well with me.

The orange and green stripes remind me of some bad decorating fads of the seventies. The fake leaves do parallel that "plastic" feel, too. The stripes and framing make me want to reach out and catch the gourds as they roll off the table. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, the artist has created a sense of movement.

For me, the stripes conflict and distract from the colors of the squash. 5

Not big fan of your back ground, just me though, could have used a bit more light around left hand corner of the picture, kinda gainy there also.
