Challenge: Calendar (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Basement Studio
Date: Nov 6, 2004
Aperture: 6.3
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/60
Galleries: Portraiture, Nude
Date Uploaded: Nov 7, 2004

Taken in basement studio, with a variety of lights, mostly two 500W work lamps diffused through a set of sheer drapes. Also used a fill flash. Couldn't get rid of that last shadow over her shoulder.

White balance adjusted in Capture One, photoshop for some minor spot editing, neat image, USM, and warmed it up slightly.

This is my first "nude" submission. I think it's tasteful, playful, and worthy of a calendar! We'll see...

Very nice photo. Great composition. Very pretty lady with eye-popping smile, and eyes that really grab your attention. I like this photo a lot. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see January's Calendar submission.

This one deserved to do better -- a happy and funny finale to any 12 month calendar. The 19 people who gave you ones, twos and threes were probably expecting a velvet "Tears of Elvis" or "Dogs Playing Poker."

I'm surprised you did'nt reach top ten!

Pretty and well done with subdued colors and great use of the red on top and bottom. Bumping up to 7

I don't think it would be a family calander but it would be a nice calender shot!

The red colors really work well. Pretty girl, nice smile, well done portrait.

what a great expression! If you stand your model a little further from the white background, it helps to diffuse the shadows. She could also use a sof light as fill on her lower back.

Terrific shot and lighting. You captured the model looking very relaxed and happy. As just a personal opinion, I think it would look more engaging to have just her upper back and face. The long perspective on the torso is almost distracting to me.

Is she? :)
I think the light balance in this is a bit off for a pleasent image. Her shadow in the background and the bright patch at bottom left takes away a lot. I think moving her a bit away from the backdrop would have made it better (I have a feeling you would have done it if you had the space).
I like her expression, how you have captured it. I am sure you will be a bit unhappy with a few things in the image as well, and would surely be trying to get it right.
Best of luck.

The colors are a little flat for my tastes

Refreshingly different take on the challenge, well photographed and a beautiful model. Very slight shadow cast at the back.

Nice! ;)

Backlight could have been a little stronger to kill that shadow, though.

Lighting lacks some oomph, a tad flat, but nice setup, nice expression. 8

They say nice model will get you a better score that a "not nice" model.
Well... obviously the quality, accurance and such of the picture should come first, but I can't resist scoring high if there is a beautiful girl on one. In my opinion subject comes first, then follows the presentation.
That is why I scored this one 9. This 1 remaining I'd have to take away for the lighting. I think this could be a bit better.
But the model is beatiful, hence 10 (model) - 1 (light) = 9 (final score)
Good luck
