On a short list of my most favorite things is surely the dappled light or, as the French say the fact of being spotted, speckled with light ("être tacheté de lumière").
There is one moment of the day depending on the season, on the weekend or on days of celebration, when after a nice meal I lay on the sofa dozing and with the semi closed eyes watching the light dancing around. That's in layman's terms the afternoon snooze; a magical moment
