A sad reminder of how it all ends, and photographed in such a way we see it twice, from above and again in the eerie shadows. Even the fascinating background doesn't stop me from looking back and forth between the two views. Top pick. |

10 for now I am speechless
A photograph like this one deserves to be accompanied by music -perhaps one of those Beethoven late string quartets where one feels that the music came from a world unknown to us that is deep inside us.
Ant yet, this image has a sweetness that is not being able to be imparted otherwise than by staring at it. |

This should finish among the top, I'd say. The shadow makes this scene feel as though death is still pulling at the poor creature. I think the texture of the background is a perfect choice as well. Gripping! |
