Definitely inspired by Georgia O'Keefe, I love tulip petals as they dry. As they dry, the dark lines come in and each petal dries differently. Flowers are often photographed, but not as much when they are dying. I took this by a window with natural light providing the luminescence. A piece of white paper underneath helped to bounce the light through the petal.

I really like this. The focusing is great, as it gets blurrier as it reaches the outside of the frame. I really like the details and the colours. 10

I can't deny that this is a cool subject. My approach would've been a little different I think. I think mostly in the framing of the shot. Its too far right and there is too much blur on the left. Some of that is cool, but when half the shot is blurred, its too much. The concept is genuinely cool and I really see where you were going with the shot. I think just backing off of the subject a little would help to keep more of it focused and still keep the same amount of the petal in the frame, just with a bit more room on the right side. This subject has great potential - Inspzil

This would be really cool blown up as a huge abstract shot. The soft focus makes me really notice the color and shape. I like it. 7

Good choice of subject (lines and colour) and good use of focus.

Nicely captured colors. Quite unusual.

Beautiful colors and lighting, and unusual composition. The focus feels soft in the middle and at the right, and I'm not sure whether it's file compression or not.
