Challenge: Supermarket Still Life (Minimal Editing)

 tried to create a classical still life but with preserved items more related to the "supermarket" theme.
In addition I choose items from different countries to obscure the location of the shot: Pesto rossso from Italy, Bugles from the U.S., lingonberries from Sweden, Mon Cheri sweets might be from France, and the tomato pellets in front are from Japan. I even added a $ and a YEN note. I'm curious if somebody is alert enough to mention this.

Getting a decent lighting was the most difficult part of this minimal challenge: I tried flash, indirect flash, long exposure with a regular living space lamp and long exposure including illuminating with a torch. I was not content at all with any of that... sigh ...finally I decided to go with available light at daytime, there was a window on the right

The problem with my entry is that all props are red -that gives the impression it's too much and maybe messy. Thanks for your suggestions [user]giantmike[/user]

So red! I liked the lingering focus/blur over the wine bottle. and the IKEA reference is nice.

Meets the challenge but lacks finesse for me. You started making an effort with the red cloth, then seemed to stop there.
I reckon this would've been more effective in an entire red background!

The shot fits the challenge well, but the execution is not quite up to par.
I do like the red concept but it's still a messy red snapshot to me. Lighting is flat, the focus is undefined, the camera angle is weird...
Minimal editing challenges do pose (ehem) challenge in all of these areas.

This is really jumbled for a still life. Some suggestions I have:
1. You really don't need the money and receipt in there. That is taking away from the red.
2. There are 8 products, a bowl, and a red cloth. That's too much. Mayeb it's just too much because they are tipped all over.
3. The background is terrible, and give an amateur feel.
