Composition: I like the direction of the two crossing petals and the thin leaves. For a flower it seems quite angular.
Technical: Focus is excellent. On my monitor the stem is very dark, which detracts from the pic for me.
Overall impression: Darkness let it down slightly for me. 7 |

| Wonderfull rose picture. I like the soft light. It is a little dark in my opinion. It fits the challenge well. Good luck with this great submission. |

| There's only one other rose that comes close to this one and it may be a tad better, (or not) It has a little lighter background which make's it stand out just a tad more. But you both will get the same score of 10 because there is nothing more beautiful than a perfectly shaped rose photographed perfectly. And I'm not sure which one I like the best. How's that for a comment. I know it's not really helpful but it is true. As is the 10 you get. |

| Very cliche - esp since there's almost an identical shot in the challenge. I like the red on black. Would like a little more lighting. I do like the angle though. 7 |

| Excellent photograph with good choice of lighting. Good focus on the entire flower, nice macro, and good choice of background. My eyes focus on the beautiful redness of the rose, down to the green leaves and then immediately back to the rose to take in it's beauty. Congratulations! |
