 Slowed the shutter on a dreary morning and panned across with the bird. In PP, just cleaned up some stray artifacts, worked the contrast and exposure.

Hello from the critique club

An appealing image that contributes well to the challenge

Nice one Tom! Now for me this image has lots of appeal but I can also understand that equally many would not be so taken with it hence the lower than deserved score. I love the motion blur and the way the darker areas merge with the shadowy areas but what really makes it work for me is the dynamics of the bird’s flight it just shouts motion. The white plumage and the yellow beak add the final appealing touches, lovelyâ€Â¦ The only thing I’m not so keen on is the vignetting I would prefer to see a cleaner crisper sky.

The blur doesn't seem to indicate direction, which I think might give better sense of flight.I like the softness it has.
