But all that matters Brad is that you beat me by one spot. Thanks for the comment. I really liked yours too. |

Excellent pic Brad, deserved a much higher ranking, on balance I think I prefer the B/W version though :) |

Breathtaking vista. Only quibble is that the horizon could have been leveled. Very nice. 8 |

I like the way you have used foreground elements and lighting to draw the eye to the majesty of your location. Nice work! (9) |

A wonderful scene. The light and shade created by the clouds gives great depth to what could have been a bland looking shot. Good detail in the sky, nice cloud formations. The only thing is the tree in the middle distance. It seems like neither one thing or the other. Its not the main feature and its not a framing feature, it just seems to get in the way. The fact that its top branches stop right on the horizon doesn't help, that sort of thing should be avoided as a general rule. I think this image could have been a lot better if.....(assuming this was possible?) you had framed the picture using the tree in the middle rather than the tree to left, by going down the bankside a little, giving an unobnstructed view of the valley at the same time. Well done anyway, a six from me. |

Stunning. I live in northern Nevada and I love it when the light is like this. I think it is the finest lighting in the world. The framing and the forboding clouds on the horizon make this an image of conflicts, truly capturing nature and her moodiness. |

Great scene you have there. I couldn't help putting my hands over the top of the image and over the tree to the left, making the lower tree as the focal point, I really think the image improved with doing that. It made it simpler with clear focal point in the foreground. |

Wonderfully well done, and glad to see you've avoided the current disease of over-enhancing the light and shade in such scenes. Either great fortune or great patience eviddent, and great understanding of light, and I'm also pleased about your balance of shadow and light. Good graphic sense of composition also, coupled with a great depth of detail in the image, for all the slight digital noise in the sky. I'm not sure it's quite what i would choose out of a stock catalogue for a calendar shot - doesn't have the right cliched quality, really, but that's largely incidental. 7 |

wonderful image that would be well fitting on a calendar, although it does seem to be missing something, perhaps a border would help, or even better why not try a triptych effect ;)
j/k great image Brad, well done (again) - 9 |

the pic is lovely. seems like tilted but after I did take a bit of time to look at it, it IS clear that's just the clouds that cause the strange effect.
Well done. |

Stunny shot! Perhaps a little too "contrasty". There's a wide range of light in this photo but it seems balanced beautifully. |
