The whiteness or brightness on the rose doesn't work for me. I like the composition with a little green on the side for contrast.

I was going to give this a 7, but I looked at it too long and it burned my retinas, causing me to click the 5 instead. ;-)

One of the hardest things to do with red is to deal with over saturation. Here, we see it taking shape, giving a neon glow to the flower.
