Not a good week this week. My ancient tripod broke and I only got a new one a few hours before deadline, so I have not had long to work on this.
We then had a frost last night and all the leaves went brown at the tips so I had to crop tighter than I wanted to remove the tips.

Having done all this I realised that I have two spots showing in the water droplets. "wibble"

I saw something similar on a website sometime ago, unfortunately I can not remember where.

I waxed a piece of slate to get a good surface for the droplets to sit on.
Used a straw to position the water droplets, plonked on the maple leaf, and Bob’s your uncle.

A little saturation and contrast adjustment, USM neat image and crop.

the red is a little too bright, maybe tone it down a bit ;)

NIce photo, the color contrast and depth of the water drops add alot to this. Well done.

Simplicity indeed. Great choice for the background gray.

With some extra contrast and stronger lighting this would be a really nice photo. Also, try applying USM to make it just a bit sharper.

I love the blazing color, sharp detail, and the interest drops of water. I like the composition a lot too. I don't see much simplicity in this shot, but still very cool.

Simply beautiful. Very artistically presented and wonderful composition and DOF. There isn't anything I dislike about this photograph.

Good idea. This would have been so much nicer if the surface was black instead of light gray. The gleam in the water drops would be so dramatic if that was all there was to balacne the red leaves.

Is it about the leaf or the water drops --- conflicting.
