Your colors are excellent and the lighting is very good, I like the hint of shadows on the flowers. The dark background with just enough light falling on the leaves adds that extra touch to make your photo exceptional. To take this photo to the next level you would need to work on the composition of the picture. Using two flowers is extremely difficult to work with. A basic rule is to use odd numbers to help balance the picture. This could be done is several different ways. One would be to overlap the two flowers and have the leaves be your third image. Of course another flower would also do the same thing as long as they were not laying in a row. Placing the flowers on a mirror can do the same thing but this idea has been over used. None the less, your picture was one of my favorites mainly because you took an over used topic, (flowers) and took it to a new level. Great job. JG

I like the way you captured the frozen rose.

Interesting. I like the colours. I can't really get over how diseased the icy rose looks... it's not very attractive to me, but then subverting the usual imagery of a red rose isn't exactly a bad thing :). I love the camera angle, the lighting, the dark background, and the shallow DOF.

Great idea. Good composition, background and focus. The colours are perfect. Your choice of white and black border is right. But I would have preferred the black border outside the white a little thinner. The lighting angles are perfect but a little more diffuse light from right would have made good shadows but not so dominating in the right rose. But ... overall a very good job and I like the shot very much. High score from Sweden. Good luck.

nice shot... perfect lighting and great composition... the focus could be a little sharper though... plus I am not a fan of the wide border, but thats just my personal opinion.. I am sure others will like it (7)

Well taken. Great colors in this shot. could use a little more light though to make the color a bit brighter. It's dark on my screen - Inspzil
