 I stopped checking on the osprey after the May snowstorm. They vacated the area for a while. But, there were two osprey at Lake Estes tonight. They were easily catching fish, making the shoreline fishermen hang their heads in disgrace. This is the female, according to the "necklace" on her breast. Canon EOS 5D Mark IV, Canon EF 400 f/4 DO IS II USM +1.4xIII. 1/1600s@f/5.6, ISO 400, lens focal 560mm. 06/26/17 7:20pm. — in Estes Park, Colorado.

I just don't prefer to do staged, set-up shots of any kind. There are so many subjects of interest (to me) in nature, all year long, that I avoid photography indoors of the mundane. My experience at DPC is that any shot I take for a challenge like this is voted low. So, I shot my creative interpretation of this challenge. Osprey have kitchens, too! This makes sense to me, but obviously, most voters chose to punish something so "out of the box". The lack of tolerance at DPC by some is causing me to drift away. I once had the philosophy to enter every challenge to expand skill set and widen horizons. Now, the site has narrowed down and the some of the vocal and dominant personalities are being bullies.

I've always wondered you have so much knowledge about wildlife (e.g. The type of this it's and its gender), do you know this off the top of your head or so you have to look it up?

You must have an extremely unusual kitchen.
