 I went for a wander around the local CBD to find urban structure that would be appropriate for a black and white. I took about 70 photos at various locations and ended up choosing this.

The biggest challenge was trying to find a balance in exposure between the shadows and sunlit buildings without over/under exposing either. The photograph was taken around 4pm, so the sunlight was intense on the lighter building walls. I wish I could dodge and burn! :)

- Desaturate
- Cropped a little of the sides and a chunk of the bottom
- Auto Levels
- Adjust Brightness Contrast
- Unsharp Mask
- Resize
- Add Border (White, 3px)
- Submit

Has the beginnings of cool shot, nice use of grays... but looking at it, all I can think is "Nice trash,". Think it'd be a lot better without the trash and the car - a much more classic picture.

Intriguing look in on this moment in time on this afternoon. The eye doesn't really have one central thing to focus on though.

Ordinary view captured to create an extraordinary photo. Great composition -- the car is the only downfall to the photo in my opinion. Well done!
