Thanks for votes and comments!

I am sorry to say that without the blurred area in the foreground half of the image value would disappear. Long focal lenghts and out of focus areas in the foreground and the background help to convey the depth of an image. And it's not up to me, but it is written in every photography manual :)

I like the feeling of immensity and wonderment here.

I am really in love with this image. The small child, looking up in wonder at the tall trees, and all that lovely Fall color ... and the light. Makes me appreciate nature all over again.

I love it, but that boy looks a bit out of scale to what I think those trees are. If so, perhaps you should have saved this for the extended freestudy. Or it could be a trick of a long focal length.

Well this would have been a 10 had it not been for the lack of sharpness, I think this has been taken on about F4/5.6, that is why you have that irretating mass of unsharpness in front..

Take that young man back, set your camera to apeture priority ( A) on the dial and a stop of F11.shoot at this, if theshutter speed is too slow for hand held use a tripod or raise the ISO.

I think you will see a big difference .

Ok going to be nit picky, personally I don't like the out of focus dof in the front, or maybe I'd like it better if it were really blurred with no structure at all....that's just my opinion otherwise I LOVE the shot and the color n edit... still giving it a 7
