Congrats on your top 5 finish!
My own personal taste in a shot like this would have been a little softer & not as over-exposed on the hightlight areas of her arms, and may have been part of the reason I voted this a 6.

returning for comments:
A very nice study with lovely tonal dimension and great visual power. The right hand is just right with the forefinger up and the pinky separated. My only minor complaint is that the thumb of the left hand is fading and not depicting its shape. Again, a minor flaw. Bumping up to 7 on sheer force of overall presentation wuth lovely black background.

Beautiful portrait of a beautiful girl. The light vs dark works so well here.
My guess is that she has a black shirt on? Together with the dark hair it provides a good transition into the dark background.

| Awesome shot, a very good portrait and I love the lighting. I love the composition too but I think if you cropped a bit tighter it would look good too. Anyway an easy 10 from me, hope you do well. |

| I really like this one. The lighting is dramatic and is used very effectively to highlight the best features. GREAT eyes. Her face is a bit angular, so the use of the chair and the angles created by the positioning of the arms works wonderfully to offset and enhance her look. 9. |

| hrmm i recognize the model but can't link her to a specific photographer. Nice work -- b&w photography forces you to do different things with lighting when shooting people to produce good effects, which you've done here nicely. Good composition as well. great shot! |
