Taken with my 70-300 mm. A Canadian Goose at a local park. A Circular Polarizer was used due to the haze today (snow any minute). Converted to BW via channel mixer with the following settings:

red: +160
green: +190
blue: -200
constant: +4%

I would've loved to have been able to clone out a little dark spot above the bill of the goose, but c'est la vie.

Great portrait. Rarely animals look good in B&W but this duck is made for it :) I wish you left the head only, or showed a little bit more of its neck, but it is a beautiful picture. 9.

Lovely bird macro you've got here, nice composition. Suggestions: little sharper focus, black line on the bottom.

The black line on the bottom is extremely distracting.

The black line along the bottom? Was it necessary? I find it distracting.

Nice portrait. The natural black and white of the goose gives it an extra boost in contrast.

so much white hurts the eyes. What's that black strip at the bottom? I like the position of the beak.
