Greetings from the Critique Club
By Inspzil
Composition - Good job meeting the challenge on this one, it is very well conceived. Waldo is just visible enough, but not too visible. Cool bridge and good foreground stuff as to not be distracting but not be too boring. The biggest problem I have with the composition on this photo is that its just a plain old crappy winter day. The white sky leaves no contrast between the roof of the bridge and the sky. It sort of just blends together. The haze makes the background a little less appealing too by simply making it less visible. On a nicer day, I'd see this scoring quite well.
Technical - The framing on this shot is pretty good. I wasn't so sure I like waldo in the middle of the pic horizontally, but I don't think it hurts the image. The exposure of this picture is pretty difficult but I think you did pretty well. Its so easy to blow out a snow picture. The subject seems pretty well focused too. DOF is as it should be for this shot. Doesn't look like a ton of processing went into this either. Thats great, even if it did have a lot done to it.
Overall - A good solid photo that would've done much better I think if the day were nicer to add a little color and a little contrast to the snow covered stuff. Meets the challenge well. Good image and good luck in future challenges - Inspzil |

I like this photo, with its long depth of field and various layers and muted tones. And "Waldo" is done well here - difficult to find, but once you find "him," you know it. Some of the other contributions, Waldo is either way too obvious...or too vague to be sure. This one strikes a good balance. |

I think I can make out a person in the middle of the bridge. Nice picture! |

One of my favorites for this challenge. Thanks for taking a good photo as well as a photo with a person in it. I really like the sepia color. |

Lovely photo especially in B/W. That's one of those kinds of bridges I love, I always wondered why they have a roof on them, I still don't know why! Waldo is there so you met the challenge, the composition is appealing. Good job there! |

Took me a long time to spot Waldo standing on the bridge. Good job of hiding him. And this is a beautiful photo. I like the sepia type tone and think it served you well to hid him, but I would love to see it in color. It is an awesome photo. Well done. |

Nice photo - it's almost surreal at the bottom. The person is well hidden. Colour is wonderful although I would have preferred it if the border didn't blend into the photo in spots - perhaps two borders (like adding an inner white border) would have worked. Great photo though. |

I really like this picture, but there is something very surreal about the contrast between the bridge and the background. Also, person is well hidden. 9 |

Excellent job of incorporating "Waldo" into a beautiful photo. I'm guessing thats him on the bridge?! Very nicely done. A solid -10- from me... I hope you don't get counted down because people don't look closely enough! Good luck. |

Lovely photo. I like the choice of tones and love the contrast. The background in particular is so soft and misty and the bridge is hard and rough and pops out nicely. The person is well hidden, although I knew exactly where to look to find them. I would have moved them somewhere to the side of the bridge or maybe lying in the snowpiles on the middle left or under the bridge. Great job! |
