coming back for comments...
I've been an active gay rights activist for many years, and it takes a lot of courage to post a photo like this on the internet. there are a lot of angry "right" (wrong in my book) people on this site who are so opposed to the rights of gay people. I've been activly argueing with some of these people, and i hope they finally say something to get themselves kicked out of this wonderful community.
As to "family values" I'm a father of 3 and know how difficult it is to raise children. I'm sure you and your partner will/are doing a great job raising your beautiful daughter, even in light of the horrible opposition of some people in this country.
I wish you the best of luck, and i hope you keep fighting the good fight.
Peace,
Eric
PS. about the photo, it's not technically perfect, but it's a cute photo anyways!

Just want to thank everyone for all the very positive comments!
To Snackwells: Har har :)
To the other couple of people on my title: I like to have fun with my titles, which you'll see if you peruse my other challenge entries. "My Two Dads" just isn't entertaining enough for me :)
Last, but not least, the technicality of this photo. Yes, it's not the best. Nobody feels worse about this than me. Unfortunately, I had a 15 minute window with which to shoot. As Laurie said, I don't have all that shiny fab equipment, so I had to make do with the lighting I had, and I had to run back and forth from the camera a few times to make the shot work.. (was working with self-timer, no remote).. so it was interesting to say the least. The fact that I got it to look *this* good is wonderful enough :) (Oh, and Breeanna was being a little brat about it too.. lol. She was giving her goofy smile too much, which is why I finally just had her look up.)
Anyway, that's why it's not very technically great.. but we use and do what we can don't we? I'd love to do this photo all over again, only with proper models, and a good hour of time to spend on it. Maybe one of these days.. I'll surely share when I do.
Ciao! See you next Sunday! (I'm skipping Time Passing and Authority. A little rest is in order.)

Outstanding idea for this challenge. Emotions appear genuine and composition is good. I wish the shadow didn't exist on the young man's shirt but most of us don't have all that shiny fab equipment, so it's no biggie. Well done. :o) |

Wow - one that makes you think and captures an emotional point. Shame about the loss of the left guys hair in the dark background. That's my only complaint though. 8 |

Glen, you're shirt is scary - tell me you don't go out in public wearing that!
Great honest photo, makes me smile and think of my family - 8 |

I like what you have done here. Rather than simply saying someone is a hero, this shows how one person perceives a hero. (I don't think I've expressed this very well - hope I'm making some sort of sense.) |

I think "My two dads" would have been more than enough explanation. I love the concept and emotional impact of this photo. Having said that, the execution is technically inadequate. The lighting was not up to the task. I'm bumping the score though just because the message, for me, is truly heroic. Bravo to you for making such a necessary statement with your entry to this challenge! |

I *think* I understand *this* one. *Nice* framing. The child's *expression* works *well* in THIS pic.. |

One of my favorites in the bunch! The only suggestion I have is the title could be a little different. 10 |

Charming family portrait. The expression on the childs face is so adoring, and the dads have nice warmth to them. Wish there weren't the dark shadow from the child on the white shirt - softer lighting would be more appropriate here. |

I suppose this will get voted down too :( Although it's a good picture, not technically perfect, but very good in what at conveying warmth and feelings. |

The background blends in with their hair and clothing, would be better to use a light background. |

I really like the composition of this shot, but that adoring look from your daughter might show her face better if she were standing behind you looking slightly down. Also, a little more light from stage left might offset her shadow a bit. Otherwise, really nice shot and an excellent photo for this challenge. |
