 I got this idea when I saw an ABSOLUT Vodka ad, and I happened to be thinking about the Heroes challenge. So I made my own ad.

Ingredients:
.75 l ABSOLUT Vodka
one blue trouser sock
red fabric
11x9" sheets of red and yellow foam, 1/8" thick
duct tape

Exposure Info:
Nikkor 18-70mm 3.5-45G AF-S lens @ 70mm
Preset white balance
lighting by two flashlights
background is my 21" Sony Trinitron turned on its side, showing an image I made in the GIMP for this purpose.

Editing Info:
Converted from RAW with UFRaw/GIMP, Neat Image, mask off background and desaturate (nasty blue cast from not having the background color-balanced with the flashlights), smoothed the fabric out so the texture wasn't so apparent (it bothered me), scaled down, USM, curves.

Nice creative shot, There is a distracting fringe around the top of the bottle and the bottom of the cape.

Excellent idea! The lighting is well done. I wish there weren't creases on the background and that odd halo around the edge of the circle of light - a little selective blurring would make it more tidy.

My personal winner.
Seeing my votes (i think our pics are similar in a way) I don't expect this one to go up high (although I would love it to) or maybe I was just overexcited with my pic. Anyway, great job and good luck.

Great photo and imaginative, to me it say hero and steers away from the old war veteran miltary use of the word hero. There are many more heros in the world without guns.
