I wouldn't change a thing about this one. The texture and detail is excellent. I can see it in an old barn wood frame hanging in a lodge setting. The depth of tone is well done. BRAVO |

B/W Mentor Group.
I think textures and shapes such as these are ideal for black and white which really highlights form so well. The lighting is fairly even in the lower two thirds of the image but the top third suffers (in my opinion) from overly harsh light. I imagine this is outdoors so it's just the position of the sunlight. |

B/W Club:
I second all of Ron's comments! This is fine "fill the frame" shot and a good use of B&W that brings out form, texture, etc. |

This is so cool! The horizontal and vertical make such a great textural contrast, while the black/white does its contrast. The only thing I would do for improvement, is cropping a bit off the bottom - and that is just a personal thing :) The lighting and all is just perfect! |

This is a great B&W due largely to the variety of tactile and tonal textures conveyed successfully. The goal of a good B&W is to have a balance of bright whites, stark blacks and a stack of greys throughout the range between the two. This has it all as well as pleasing compositional values, linear definition and visual interest. |

Great image, I gave it an 8, I think this should be in the top twenty at least, if not top ten. |

Nice photo, I like the study in shadows and contrasts created by the various lines. |

With 640+ pics, I am commenting on VERY few. But this pic deserved a comment - love the textures. Great shot. |

Nice textures! But I don't get the title. The rope is still useful, isn't it? |

Interesting range of textures and well composed. A use of a smaller aperture to make the whole image in acceptable focus may have been implemented in this situation. |

Different textures that work for me. and the opposing orrientation of the rope and wood makes for an interesting journey into the shot |

Shame because I think you could have given this more impact with lighting and contrast |
