 An American Bittern (Botaurus Lentiginosus) catches a Red Swamp Crawfish (Procambarus Clarkii) for lunch in the swampy waters of Brazos Bend State Park, Texas, USA...

Photograph was taken while laying at the edge of the swamp with camera at eye level of the Bittern and using a Godox V860iiO w/ a Better Beamer flash extender.

It is a rare treat to catch an American Bitter in the open like this. It is extremely rare when I can get close enough to photograph them with my 150mm f2.0. I always love it when I can use that lens for wildlife. It is the best lens I have ever used, so I work hard to get close enough to wildlife to use it over my 300mm f4.0.
