The head down and hands, away from the torso are expressive, not touching the instrument - waiting to try again. Centered view is ok for me.

I like how the lights were set up. In the first round, I gave this a 6 because of the background mostly. But it did make an impression so I have come back to bump it up. Good job.

Nice lighting in this. The texture of the wall is cool too. Maybe cropping out some of the overexposed left side would give the shot an interesting feel. I think that with the silhouette left of center, and the guitar neck crossing over the center to the right side would give an interesting balance.

No failure here. Centering the subject is rare now and seeing this is refreshing. After 30 years, I am still teaching myself the guitar and have learned not to give up.

The blown highlights and the texture of the curtain don't do you any favors. IMO.

Beautiful idea, but the subject is just too centered.

Nice photo, I would have cropped the image tighter on the left to bring more attention to the subject.

The lighting is a good start, but a touch of light in the guitar (similar to the bright side of the dimly lit face) might make this really pop.

I like the idea of this sillhoutte. Background is a bit distracting. Great posture.

Why did he fail? Great pic.

its not a silhouette-more backlighting would have solved that

but good comp.
