My eye is drawn more to the field looking for a subject....thinking where is the waterboy?

Good shot - has kind of an old-time feel to it. I think the stuff at the top of the frame is a distraction, however, and probably would have cropped it out. 6

I think a more definite focus on our friend in the straw hat would be nice. Maybe even take the marching band et. al. out of focus.

The title leads me to look at the man in the lower left corner, but the line formed by the edge of the bleachers and the highlights in the top right corner keep drawing my eye to ward the top right of the frame.

Your focal point, indicated by the title, is competing with too many other things. You have some great individual elements in this photo. All offer some excellent opportunities. I love the fact that you shot this from behind. I think the two gentlemen, shot from the same angle but framed to include both men would be a great shot. There is an excellent range of values and an interesting lighting angle in those two subjects.

Nice idea I do wish I new what they are looking at. This way I am not sure what the subject is...
