I think this is a great shot.
What i'd have done differently however is to try and dodge some highlights to a) brighten the image slightly and b) by selective dodging, i'd have tried to lead the viewer down the path more. As it is it's a little dark.
I think the trees about 1/3 of the way down (the brighter ones) are perfect, but then after those they go pitch black which stops the eye from going any further i think.
I might be talking complete rubbish, but seems to make sense in my head, haha. |

Thanks everyone, this got some good reviews a few days prior to the contest (I submitted within hours of the closing) and I thought I'd give it a shot. Some people liked the darkness, some didn't, that's cool it's all relative.

| I really enjoy looking at thie photo. Lots of depth. Reminds me of the scene in Lord of the Rings when Frodo first meets the nazgul on his black steed. It seems as if the trees are almost closing in on you, ala the trash compactor scene in Star Wars: A new hope. I rate it an (8) |

| Subject seems fine, but sharpness seems lacking. Feels like better lighting would make it even better. |

| Love this shot, only thing missing is someone or something traveling down that road. I could see this work as a book cover for a big inbound mysterious thriller book. Good work. |

| Excellent choice for B/W. Centered works well once in a while, this is one of those times. |
