Hey Tom: Congratulations on your 17th placing. This is indeed a very well composed image. It really sings! I love it. |

This is an awesome shot. I really like everything about it. It's not an obvious choice for the challenge topic, but easily understandable connection. Great work. |

Wow, very nice and moody shot. Does her hair on the left really offer anything to the composition? I might have pulled it out of the way fo r the shot. The position of the flute (?) is great and very comfortable to my eye. I'm impressed that her ring is the same silver tone as the instrument. If it were gold, it would be distracting. Perhaps a good tip to others shooting musicians. Match your jewelry! :) 9 |

At first glance I thought wow. After looking at it for a few seconds though I was bothered. It appears as though she is holding the flute at something like a 30 degree angle upwards vs. horizontal to the ground. The intent no doubt was to highlight the flute. It does make it seem a bit unnatural for me. |

This was a good idea, and I like the composition and angle you chose. I like the lighting and how it emphasizes and softens her features. At first it looks like her skin was neat image treated, and too much, but looking closely, I think it's just right (and probably not neat image).. |

In these days of synthesizers and electronic gadgets, the classical music instruments are certainly "low tech" in comparison. Well done. |

While I think this is a fantastic presentation (clean, crisp from front to back and vivid) I am having a tough time relating it to the theme of "low tech." BOL |

I really like this picture. In a challenge full of gadgets it brings life and emotion. Great choice of subject to help you stand out. |

the skin looks just a little 'unreal', perhaps a bit too much 'NeatImage'? |

Nice clear image. Really like to skin tone. This probably shouldn't bother me but it does...The model is holding the flute backwards. Lips should be on other side with the left hand closest to the face. |

I like this, though I'm not sure it fits the theme that well.
Not sure if it's intentional, but I'm highly amused by the fact that she's playing the flute backwards. |

Come on, if you really want to photograph someone with a flute, at least have her holding the instrument correctly. That is, pointing to the right and with your left hand closest to the head joint. |

Hmm, not sure that this person knows how to play the flute... she certainly has a strange way of holding it. |

Nice photo, but I have never seen a left handed flute before this. |
