returning for comment:
This is a nice shot and i wished you would have taken advantage of the limit allowed to make this image sing. Yes, the referee is the final authority in the field. As is, this image is a 4, but I am going to make believe I am seeing it bigger. lol Bumping up to 6 |

If it were a ref in someones face...that would show authority, but the ref picking up a penality flag doesn't ring my bell. |

This picture would work even better without the legs behind the ref, they don't really add anything. |

Larger image would've had more impact, but good shot. |

If he doesn't straighten up soon we may be looking at another penalty : ) |

I like it and gave it a good score. but if it were larger, I would have bumped it a point. |

I don't like the way it's cropped. It's like he's asking for one of the players to kick him in the behind. If your intent was to take away his authority, then you were a complete success. Sorry to sound harsh, but that's the way I see it... |

LOL. The photo isn't really very interesting unless there is sound being made or a caption from the players behind him. Sorry. :) Still giggling... |

This photo doesn't work for me because of the position you have put the ref in. He seems to be cowering. Maybe that was intended. I think it would be more powerful to have him facing down a player, throwing down the flag, or marking off the penalty. It sort of looks like he is a lady daintily picking up a hankie. Good use of color and crisp image. The placement of the subject within the frame is nicely done, also. |

appears very small on my screen in future make it large so we (the viewers and voters) can better judge it, also it helps to pick up on any distracting elements which at this size could not be seen.
i have to vote with the size on this 1 sorry but i can't see even a distinced expression on the ref. its just 2 small. |

Too small. Be sure to take full advantage of the submission size allowance. |

You lost a lot of details by chosing such a smal file size. The referee doesn't suggest too much authority, as he's kneeling down. Usually they throne a bit over the players and put their nose into the air :) |

looks like you had a great perspective to shoot from. too bad you didn't have a shot of him expressing his authority to some players...
also, you might want to submit larger images in the future. as a rule, the smaller ones do not score that well. |

Needs to be bigger so we can see more detail. |

Why so small??? People will critisize for the size. You can have things at 640/640 if you wish, otherwise people can hardly see it. Well done though. |

WAY too small. I had high hopes for this as a thumbnail, but it is too small to judge. should be about 600 pixels on the long side. |

You may want to resize your photos to 640 pixels next time... |

Seems out of focus. It is very hard to make out any detail at my viewing esolution. Composition/action is no that interesting to me. Well exposed. |

Nice concept, image too small however. Otherwise the focus is good, and the shot is well exposed. |
