I was thinking of Harry Potter instantly. Isn't it crazy how capable our visual memory is? You choose the perfect angle to tease that |

Very impressive photograph. I've never tried but I imagine it must be quite difficult to get the exposure right (which you clearly have) in a scene like this? I went to a school, and to a military college, with similar though not-quite-so-grand settings. Imposing austerity is a British tradition. It instils a sense of...something or other... that's probably both important and irrelevant. Anyway, a nice photograph that you don't at first notice is square. Thank you. |

Hogwarts? Nice perspective and sense of ritual. I can imagine these stalwarts on the wall glowering down on modern diners, scolding them, "Put down those forks and knives and eat with your hands, you moon-eyed fops." |

I thought the same thing! Not so much OCD on my part, but I think the overall symmetry of the composition makes the out of sync chairs stand out all the more.
Wrong college I know, but this scene makes me think of the part in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency with the salt cellar and Professor Chronotis. :) |

Oh my, that IS imposing. Great lines that the square framing takes full advantage of. |

I do not care for Harry Potter one bit but I'll take the dinning room and turn it into a library. How can one eat under this spectacular surveillance? |

Oxford, The same dining room used for the Harry Potter films I believe. |

I need to go there and straighten all the chairs and lamps. This image should have an OCD awareness warning on it! Where is it btw? That table would fit nicely in our dining room :) |
