I have courted bou bou for many years, but this is the first time he actually leaned against my leg and enjoyed my attentions and gave little basenji moans as he waited for his person. this has nothing to do with the picture, except it sort of has.

I like Bou bou’s sweater and his watchfulness and devotion.
I had a poodle who had a small knitted blanket, he carried it everywhere.

he does look healthy and as you mentioned he has a person who takes care. Everything seems to be fine. But that ragged dog coat tells another story.

..bou bou needs a new sweater...or maybe no sweater at all. His look is saying, "please rescue me from this sweater."That's why he leaned on your leg. He thought you would be his sweater savior.

That basenji look of concern, or flash of emotion. Life portrayed in its particularity, nonchalantly composed, yet none the sparser for it. Usually, in my travels, the upper portion of a photograph is more open than the bottom, but here all the trucks and cars are a chorus to the mood of anticipation. The tables and chairs flow along in a modest diagonal, as does the herringbone brickwork. Someone tell grandma bou bou needs a new sweater. And this time knit it of kevlar.

I like the way the row of cars is almost horizontal but bends ever so slightly down into the frame. Then the row of tables and chairs is a much stronger diagonal. And the pattern of the bricks finishes this off - almost a very loose golden spiral. Would it be tighter if you lost a bit from bottom and right?

I find BouBou's unravelling coat intriguing. Does he love it so much he must wear it out, or does it frustrate him to the point of attack?
