the border's too stylized for my taste but the image itself is spectacular. The Brussels sprout is an unutilized goldmine of metaphor. |

The term "artsy" is often used pejoratively, and snidely, might I add, yet this is surely art. It's surreal, it's mysterious, it's dark and it's also playful. The shadows, in their granularity, are sumptuous. The damascened knife and halved Brussels sprout are a revelation of pattern and color. The shadowed hand passing over the knife ties the composition together. Just great. |

The hand shadow, even with a missing finger, along with knife lay out the geometry. This is all a setup for a freshly halved brussel sprout. Having moved in closer, we pick up the detailed reflections on the knife. A pattern that has us going back and forth studying the similarities and differences. Nice. |

I keep getting drawn to the hand and missing finger, then I get worried! |

LOL! Great colors and textures. I love these guys but prefer to buy them pre-sliced from Trader Joe's. At my age I'm happy to have TJ do some of the work for me. |

epitome of suspense - from the hovering hand, to the knife seeming to stand on its point; mundane domestic chore, or sinister goings-on? |

It happens to me, too, Bear. That's why I've learned never to eat the things . . . or only when it isn't really going to matter. |

The worst is over. This is just for the police records. Or Mr Holmes. |
