Do I consider pencil and paper low tech? (Yup, typing on a PC right now.) DOF seems a bit too short in this one although it has achieved the goal of drawing my eye to the lead of the pencil and this is a plus. Color cast seems less black on the pencil, than dark grey even a hint of green in the paper and pencil color. - (Could be the work monitor) Very simple artistic presentation of the challenge; high marks.

An obvious choice for the challenge yet the first one I've seen.

I would have preferred more focused writing (lines) on the paper.

I think the dof is a little shallow for this, and the binder edge should be in the light more. Great light on the pencil

Nice idea, very nice idea but the composition leaves a bit to be desired. Well done though.

Good composition. I wish the pencil was more eye popping. I think I would have also liked a little more on the paper than a scribble. It might have been distracting but I'm thinking this photo could have been so much more. Not a bad attempt but not great either...decent.
