| good heavens, that sheen coming off its head is wonderful :) really distinctive, and well-contrasted with the otherwise "drab" environment of the composition |

| Oh i love this. The color of the environment is so neutral and then you see this beautiful pop of color. The eye then catches your attention too. What a beauty! And you did a good job capturing this. I am sure it's incredibly difficult to catch a hummingbird in a still moment. |

Ha ha! I understand exactly what Don said but if I'd see one on my window sill I'd jump to get my camera!

| what a cute little guy .. i'm assuming he is a hummingbird .. we dont have them in australia .. but i do know they are quite small .. and quick .. this is a great shot .. i'm loving his stunning iridescent colouring .. :) |

| Beautiful color and textures in the feathers on his head. Congratulations! I have a fair number in my yard, but even if they sit still, they blend so well into the background that I've never been able to get a decent shot of them. |

| They are so hard to capture, aren't they? Unlike Don, I will never tire of a good capture of one of these amazing creatures in their impossibly fast motion :) I do enjoy the detail, especially in the throat feathers, here. |

dpc has given me an irrational hatred of hummingbirds
that being said
this particular demon is soothingly not flying
and has a different kind of grace than the normal spectacular grace of which I am so not fond. |
