personally, I would have preferred a bit more brightness in the image, at least along the point of focus in the bottom third - also it strikes me the composition might be more visually engaging if rotated 90 degrees to portait orientation - I do like the creamy drop off of focus that you achieved. |

It's interesting how this shows such a shallow DOF yet is shot at an aperture of f/13! |

great macro .. its interesting that none of the pencils have pointed ends ..

Strange effect of the shallow dof, they have become bendy as if made of rubber. |

When you get them this close, they almost stop looking like pencils. They could be alien eyes or some sort of missiles. Nice details. |
