I'll grant its low tech, lighters are higher tech, but a magnifying glass would have been super low tech. Other than that, I find the subject's presentation too simplified. The DOF is not deep enough to keep the single match head in focus on the outer rim of the field. Moving the match head to the center would fix this, but would not save the whole which seems more like a shot that would be taken in a digital camera scavenger hunt - go find some matches, not find something low tech, and still not interesting enough for a stock photograph.

i like the shallow DOF. good use of a black background with no shadows, etc. good focus, color, sharpness.

I feel that this really could do with a much deeper dof, the focal plane is on the edge of the box and thus the warning becomes the prominent item in the image. Additionally a slight clockwise rotation would help.

Ooh, deeper depth of field would have improved this composition.
