Challenge: Total Eclipse of the Moon (Standard Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-5D Mark III
Lens: Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | C
Date: Jan 20, 2019
Aperture: 11.0
ISO: 6400
Shutter: 1/5
Date Uploaded: Jan 21, 2019

Taken with the Sigma 150-600 lens, which performed pretty well in these conditions. It got so cold (-7F) at the end of shooting that it was hard to move the tripod head and focus. So it's not quite as clear as I like. Combine that with needing some fairly heavy DeNoise, and you get a decent photo, but not the clearest ever.

Still, I really like it. Capture the red color well, and I got some stars in there. The dehaze tool around the moon added in more stars, I think because there was some leftover noise that it accentuated.

Editing Steps
Crop
Increase exposure and whites
DeNoise
Increase detail
Circular mask around the moon to mess with clarity, sharpness, exposure, and dehaze to make the stars pop a bit
Circular mask of the moon to increase clarity and dehaze a bit.

Sharpen edges
