 A thin slice of kiwi and strong light from close behind. I was working vertically. Starting from bottom with a strong light, then a glass with the kiwi-slice on and finally the camera on a tripod. I had to put something between the lamp and the glass because of the heat. Used the super-macro focusing that is possible with the Olympus C-5050Z. Manual focusing.

Greetings from the CC club :-)

First of all I want to congrats you on this very dramatic shot. Bravo! I'm a big fan of well executed macros and this one is no exeption.

LIGHTING AND FOCUS: perfect!

COMPOSITION: I think having it centered gives it a better punch than if a part of it would've been cropped. It makes it more dynamic and gives it a "sunshine" effect that is pleasing to the eye.

MEETS THE CHALLENGE: not sure about this one.... my first impression is that it's still more green than yellow. There is a yellowish hue to it, probably due to the incascent light shining behind it but... still more green than yellow. So I'll give you half the marks ;-)

All in all a great shot! Keep it up Carsten!

I've never seen such a yellow kiwi but I really like this shot...it is so luminous. It's interesting because it doesn't really "say" fruit...it doesn't look juicy at all in fact it looks rather dry but that lack of juiciness doesn't detract from the image at all to me. I think it deserves a wider frame...the shape of the seeds draw my eyes out and I think a wider black frame would draw my eyes back in.
