 Taken early in the morning on a moorland area in Scotland. Skylarks (Alauda arvensis) are rated 'red' on the Royal Society for The Protection of Birds in the UK. Red is the highest conservation priority, with species needing urgent action for protection, Therefore, I was not only delighted that I saw this little darling but that s/he kindly posed for me! I
