CRITIQUE CLUB CRITIQUE

We meet again!!
COMPOSITION
The composition of this shot is very strong. The faces on the left direct the eyes into the shot, then the face on the right directs it up and to the right, out of the frame. I would suggest at tighter crop on the right, but I am afraid that might make it a bit tight, and thus it would feel unbalanced. A tighter crop at the bottom, though, and maybe more at the top wouldn't hurt, I don't think, unless there was soemthing up there you didn't want us to see.
TECHNIQUE
I like the dominance of the color in this one. It meets the challenge well. The softer focus of it adds to the overall effect for me, though I am sure there are some that might not like it. There are some places with a touch too much noise, I think, but I am not sure how you could fix it without losing too much detail elsewhere. Maybe use NEATIMAGE, or some equivalent, with the lowest possible settings. The couple of spots that are almost blown out look like to me that maybe you oversaturated a bit, rather than exposing improperly.
OVERALL EFFECT
This shot has a spiritual, mystical, spooky feeling to it. It reminds me of pictures/artwork that are used to illustrate mythology books. My first thought was lost spirits coming out, or trying to come out of hades. I believe haunting is the word I am looking for. This is a haunting picture.
Once again, you have done well. Congrats

A breathtaking image of inspiring quality. Melting away in admiration of the soothing soft colors. The easy on the eyes focus is very pleasant and appropriate for the mood of this photo. There are a couple of hot highlights and stabbing vertical lines that others may find a minor distraction. But it is part of the situation and I can live with it no prob. The tack sharp foto hounds may hassle you a bit too. Don't pay attention to them. This is a highly creative endeavor which speaks charmingly to the gentle heart. Very well done indeed! |

I like the composition of your image very much, also the color is great.
Very spiritual!
It's too noisy though and the spots on the left disturbe a little. |

I'm quite curious how you accomplished this. It is quite surreal and has an etherial quality to it. The composition is excellent. |

Very interesting piece. This begs to be explained! The how it's done might just be as interesting as the photo itself. While I like it very much, some parts give me the feeling of spot editting, but I cannot be certain (the face in front seems to be covering the faces behind as an overlay, but really I cannot say with any degree of certainty. Would you be adverse to a PM conversation? (Please???)

Wonderful creativity in this photo! I hope it places in the top ten. Soft focus and blurring are definitely a plus. The only detraction for me is to brightness of the light just under the chin. I'll be anxious to read how you accomplished this. |
