This is the cast iron "Gothic Bridge" also called #28, designed by Calvert Vaux in 1864.
There are 31 bridges and arches in Central Park without including the many rustic wood bridges found in the Park's woodlands or the the four transverse roads, allowing City traffic to cross the Park.
One of the oldest tree in the park, a mulberry tree, is near the bridge mimicking its shape - or vice versa. They are both some of my oldest, dearest friends in the park.

loving the light and the shadows .. and the heavy feeling of those branches above me .. the path leading to your bridge takes me to it ... great image.. :)
