 Took this the last night of the challenge. We live on a suburban corner. Hubby agreed to go out front and pose under a streetlight. I shot catty-corner across an intersection to get the darkest possible background (the windowless side of a house). Matches were real; cigarette was rolled paper. I had NO idea how busy our street is at 9 p.m. (or whenever it was) until I stood out there with my camera on a tripod waiting for a chance to shoot with no cars coming, going, or crossing the intersection.
I did wish this was sharper but it was the best I could do and my husband and I are pretty proud of it.

I too don't think this needs to be sharper (and maybe that's a little sharpening artifact around his left sleeve/hand that could be removed?) as the softness adds quite a dream like quality to a film noir shot, like one of those movie scenes where the main character isn't quite sure if they're seeing the real thing or something dredged from memory or nightmare.
