Wow, these things still exist? This show would have worked great with some low depth of field. |

I am not reminded of low technology when seeing this pump. Instead, it invokes the 'good old days' or antique sentiments, nostalgia. The height of the pump vs the tree and the rest of the crop are well thought and create a nice balance against the 90 degree corner in the background. The white car is a huge distraction and looks very out of place, perhaps a tighter crop would fix this, but could defeat other aspects the composition. The green tone and overexposed sky do little to nostalgify this for me, but perhaps some grain and a sepia toning with no car would give a more solid 'old' feel to it. |

This has a charming antique look to it. I'd say that the car on the right border takes some of it away, however. Otherwise a nice submission. |

interesting subject. i wonder how this shot would have looked from a different angle, or if the subject wasn't centered in the frame. |

I think the car should be cropped out and the gas pump not so much in the center. |

Great idea, but the image needs more contrast, and I would have cloned out the car. |

The subject gets completely lost in the background and the poor color/contrast does nothing to help it. |
