The tractor (do I use the right word?) makes this picture work for me. Because it provides such dark contrast against the other parts of the scene.
To improve I'd suggest to straighten the horizon. The roof of the house provides a good line for that. The background is a bit bright in relation to the foreground and that draws the attention away a bit. Could be imroved by some burning.
The pattern of the hills looks familiar (only seen it once), California?

This is a strong shot. Your focal point is getting lost though - is it the tractor or the fireplace? I'm assuming the tractor, since the chimney is not in use. Black and white was a good artistic choice.

Low technology, no electronics. Hmmm....I see a great b/w composition of an aged/abandoned building and a tractor, but this does not seem to invoke technology to me, even low tech, in some ways, the tractor almost contrasts the age of the building, making it seem higher tech than the rest of the picture. The tones are great, framiing and crop right on, but the subject matter seems could be confusing in the realm of low tech.

Very nice; I like the rustic cabin here a lot, but to me the electric wire and junction box spoil the mood a little. I know you were going for the tractor, but if you get back there, perhaps try a different angle on the place.

composition seems a little busy...have a hard time being drawn to an object. Image also appears to be tilted to the left. Great title and I love the house.

Nice scene. Well composed and executed. Great tonal range. Some loss of details in the shadows on the tractor.

wonderful feeling to this, fantastic contrasts, there is a feeling that it needs to be rotated clockwise just slightly though

Not enough space given to the tractor, which I assume is the low tech item. You make the house seem more like the low tech part.

dont like the house in the shot

My eyes go all over the photo without really picking out a specific subject. The tractor and house and mountain brush all run together.

The pic is crooked. The back of the tractor is too dark, all detial is lost and the black hole there draws my eye. With the advanced editing permissible in this challenge, you should have been able to correct that and still keepthe chimney side from blowing out. Now then, there was some discussion in the forums about this challenge and it was pretty much a concensus that cars/trucks/tractors (engines..) don't meet it. Perhaps an old steel wheeled Fordson or Deere, or something with steam power...

Very nice pic, but I would have cloned out the electricity wire. Some people may ding you for that. GREAT JOB.
